I Made It!

So, the ATC basics course is done. The minimum score for passing was a 70%. I got a 95% but even with that score I'm disappointed. Yes, you can say it, I shouldn't be upset with a score like that, but when you know you can do better and your goal was a max of 2 questions wrong (98%) a 95 can be a let down. And every question I got wrong was a stupid mistake on my part (but aren't all mistakes in hindsight).

But, the good news, my grade was higher than the average score, and MUCH better than the score I got on the test at the very beginning of class. Our first day of class they gave us this same test (or a version of the same test) as a control for the class. I got a 52% the first time I took the test. So that tells you how much I knew when I got here. *smile*

So, the next step is Tower training. This is where we get to simulate what we've learned. I can't wait to actually get into it. I can, however, wait for the weather that we've been having lately. This morning we came to class with a gusty -11 wind chill! Fun times considering I haven't been in weather this cold practically my entire life! And spending the last 11 years in climates like Phoenix and Houston this is brutal. And this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Perhaps now I'll feel more inclined to go out and see more of Oklahoma City so I cab post some pictures for you! I know we'll do things once the family gets out here so if all else fails you'll see pictures then.
