Well, it's been fun, but it's time to head back home. Yesterday, Friday, was our last day, and I PASSED! I had two performance verifications that were graded by people who flew in from facilities to determine if you were able to learn the rules etc well enough to move on to REAL airplanes. So I'm happy to say that yes, they think I'm good enough to tell real airplanes what to do!
The academy is actually thinking about changing things a little bit though. Right now when you apply they tell you where you're going before you get to the academy. They want to change this though so you come to academy and if you pass the first verification tests you move on to a next phase. You'll train and then test again. If you pass those tests you move on to another phases etc etc. If you don't pass the first tests you're out. If you make it to phase 2 but don't pass phase 2 then you get put into a lower level facility (one that's really not busy AT ALL). If you make it to phase 3 but don't pass phase 3 you'll get put into a facility that's a little higher but still not that busy. Etc etc. This plan allows students to be placed in a facility that is at their level of skill. It's a great idea, but it will leave NO time for moving etc. They would have to allow more time to get to the facility after academy than they do now. But this, doesn't apply to me since I'm outta here!!
I report to PRC next week! In the mean time I'm going to fly back home, see my family, and start packing! The next post you see from us will probably be after we've arrived in Prescott. Take care and we'll see you in a few days.
