HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me! Yesterday was my birthday, hurray for me! You'll have to ask someone who knows to tell you how old I am. It was a nice and semi-relaxing day. I woke up to the usual, an empty spot in the bed next to me and a three year old shouting, "It's time to get up Mommy, it's morning time!" So, I got up and fed the kids and somehow found time to feed myself. We played, cleaned, ate lunch, and finally Kaylin went down for a nap.

Later that day, when Adam was finally able to come home from work and Kaylin was still sleeping, Iolana and I went to the store to get a pumpkin and some shoes for her costume. We had a Halloween party to go to and Iolana didn't have any princess shoes to go with her Sleeping Beauty costume. I wanted to get her a pair of shoes that she would be able to wear for a while. So we drove to the Payless that was near by. And just our luck it was BOGO time. So Iolana ended up getting a new pair of church shoes (which she was in desperate need of) too. I didn't get a picture of her since I forgot the camera, but she was adorable with her hair done and her makeup on. I think she felt like a princess.

I wasn't so glamorous. My costume consisted of whatever I could find at the time which happened to be a beach bum; Surfer shorts, Adam's hawaiian shirt, a white t-shirt, and some flip-flops. Hey, it works! All I was missing was the board. Adam went as himself and Kaylin dressed up as Little Bo Peep, or at least that's what I thought she looked like. She was wearing a pink sleeveless dress with an overcoat and a pink bonnet. I need to find a shepard's hook for her to carry around and the outfit will be complete.

At the party Iolana had a blast. But there was one boy who scared Iolana to the point of tears. . He wore a black cloak and had a faceless mask, nothing but two glowing green eyes. She would squeeze her eyes and start to cry whenever she saw him. Going beyond the faceless creature she played numerous games like find the pumpkins (like an easter egg hunt but with paper pumpkins instead), wrap the mummy (you wrap your partner with toilet paper and after 2 minutes see who has the best one) and the eyeball toss (toss ping pong balls that look like eyeballs into a container). We carved Thomas the Tank Engine in the pumpkin we bought and she won $20.00 for 1st prize! Since when does a 3 year old win money as a prize! As expected she opened the envelope, was excited that she got money and then proceeded to dig into the goodie bag that came with the envelope.

Even though there wasn't much happening for me on my birthday, it was still a great day. But I really don't feel any older. I don't feel much older than the day I graduated high school (BTW my 10 year reunion took place just last month), yet seniors in high school think I'm ancient!

You are not ancient, Lannee. I think you and I will always feel young. My 10-year will be next year. I didn't realize we were that close in age. Happy Birthday, and I can't wait to see pics on Halloween of the little Princess and Little Bo Peep!!

I'm sorry I did not at least call for your birthday. I did think about you lots, but I guess really dosen't do it. Dan came for the day and we had the guy from Nikken here, so I had to entertain a little, more than I have had to do for awhile. ILOVE YOU MY LANNEE AND MISS YOU AND THE GIRLS SOOOOOOO VERY MUCH!! LOVE TO ALL, mom
